The name Kadidjiny means “learning, thinking, listening” and The Revellers intend to live these values in their approach to running the hall. Our intent is to maintain the groups already using the facility, as well as to introduce a selection of new activities to the community. Our plan is to create a diverse selection of activities that meet the varied needs of a changing society, but also enable the current groups to establish connections with the local community.
The history of Kadidjiny Park Hall is an important reminder of wonderful community spirit. The hall was originally managed by a group of parents connected to the Melville Primary School. When the school rebuilt on the oval site, the site was sold back to the City of Melville in 2006. These parents led a plan to redevelop the space into an fun and active park, as well as turn the original library into the community hall that remains today.
Our mission, as the management team behind the Kadidjiny Park Hall, is to maintain and create engaging opportunities for the greater community, developed through culturally rich and educationally focused activities. Such learning occasions will be motivated toward events for all ages, as well as activities that are equitable and accessible for all abilities and cultures.
